The accommodation
We did not give the name « Platanos » to our accommodations by chance. As soon as someone arrives at the neighborhood, he will meet the “Platanos” tree which, since 1813, has been offering its coolness to the visitors of the square. In one of the paved narrow streets the house of our grandparents is located, already from the 19th century. The renovation of the three-storey traditional building began in 2017 and was finally completed in July 2022 with the creation of four fully furnished rooms, having as goal to accommodate the guests of Plomari.

The “sakhnisi” type of balcony (internal balcony) has the form of a closed porch which characterizes many traditional houses of Asia Minor architecture. The word sakhnisi has also been included in Turkish building terminology and means the small ledge intended for sitting and looking out. On the sachnisi, the wooden about one meter wide ledge, guests can enjoy their coffee having a great view of the neighborhood of Platanos.

The standard rooms offer something truly extraordinary. At 35 square meters, the standard rooms are particularly spacious. Each room has the added luxury of a private balcony, overlooking the mountain and the local church – perfect for an unforgettable morning coffee, under the sunlight enjoying the silence of the mountain.
